Gospel Timeline

Today, a closer look at the Bible would seem to reveal that the timeline of history is not governed by political events and kingdoms. Instead, it revolves solely around God’s plan of salvation for the CHURCH; and the church we know was typified by National Israel. For this, I believe, it would not be surprising to see the spiritual meaning of numbers also revealed in the timeline, making the calendar ONE with the gospel. The Bible holds a great deal of time information and I don’t see how God would have put it there without a purpose. Since it's God’s WORD it is therefore accurate, reliable and very important. When we say, for example, Christ is revealed; Isn’t Christ the WORD? Wouldn’t the unsealing of the Bible be to reveal TRUTH. And since Christ is also the TRUTH (Joh 14:6) it seems HE would also be revealed in the gospel timeline.

However, if we understand today that the church era has come to an end, then the calendar ALSO would have ceased to carry any substance even though the number patterns continue all the way to 2011. The gospel is ONE message. Once Christ was revealed, ALL prophecies that were set for an appointed time were fulfilled. This would have to have been at the end of the acceptable year of the Lord (Isa 61:2) in a Jubilee (Le 25:10) on the feast of tabernacles (Joh 7:37). In our desire to learn all about God’s salvation program, I don’t think one should ever hesitate to look into the calendar provided that it's understood in the light of the whole Bible.

Now because we can’t separate the calendar from doctrine, this should explain why 2011 prophecies of a literal return would not work. This is why I believe we see one camp, in the post-church community, literalizing end-time prophecies to try and get them to fit the calendar. At the same time, another camp seems to understand the spiritual revelation of Christ but reject the calendar altogether or any attempt to incorporate time information into the gospel. But Lord willing, considering both aspects should reveal more truth into the nature of the gospel.
