Does pride relate to the state of the church in tribulation? Let's examine.

Pr 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Pr 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Pr 11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Mr 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he COMETH in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Re 16:15 Behold, I COME as a THIEF. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Ps 35:4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

Ps 83:17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

Pr 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty <01361>, and before honour is humility.

Ob 1:4 Though thou exalt <01361> thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.

Eze 31:10 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up <01361> thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

Eze 28:5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up <01361> because of thy riches:

Lu 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

2Th 2:4 Who (man of sin) opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Pr 29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Es 6:6 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to MYSELF?

Isa 2:12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

1Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Eze 30:6 Thus saith the LORD; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord GOD.

Ps 12:3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the TONGUE that speaketh proud things:

Ps 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Ps 86:14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.

Pr 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

Pr 6:17 A proud look, a LYING tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

Ps 31:20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man (the church): thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Ps 94:2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

Ps 119:69 The proud have forged a LIE against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

Ps 119:85 The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy law.

Ps 124:5 Then the proud WATERS had gone over our soul.

Ps 69:2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep WATERS, where the floods overflow me.

Pr 15:25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

Pride appears to relate to the great tribulation. Although the church has had a proud heart from the very beginning, it is when God forsakes IT in tribulation that this pride reached its peak. And with pride comes God’s wrath on the body when Christ is revealed.
