SUMMARY CONCLUSION

Abaddon (destruction) and Apollyon (destroyer) appear to be referring to antichrists who rise in tribulation and judgment to destroy the church. In essence, it is God allowing the enemy (church) to destroy itself with lies that cannot save: False prophets providing a false assurance of salvation to themselves.
