Neither Shall Ye Touch It

Was Eve lying when she told the serpent that God commanded them not to TOUCH the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil?

TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL: CHOICE OF ANOTHER CHRIST GIVEN TO ADAM AND EVE?

Ge 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, AND the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Re 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Ge 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

Ge 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge <01847> of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

De 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

De 30:16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

De 30:17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

De 30:18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

De 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Ec 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge <01847> increaseth sorrow.

Da 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge <01847> shall be increased.

Ps 34:14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

De 1:39 Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

Ge 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were NOT ashamed. (the church had no sin or guilt before God prior to the fall?)

Eze 7:18 They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.

TOUCHING (unto judgment): COMMITTING FORNICATION?

Ge 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not EAT of it, neither shall ye touch <05060> it, lest ye die.

Ge 12:17 And the LORD plagued <05060> Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife.

Ge 20:6 And God said unto him (Abimelech) in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch <05060> her.

Le 5:2 Or if a soul touch <05060> any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.

Le 7:19 And the flesh that toucheth <05060> any unclean thing shall not be EATEN; it shall be burnt with fire: and as for the flesh, all that be clean shall eat thereof.

Le 11:8 Of their flesh shall ye NOT EAT, and their carcase shall ye not touch <05060>; they are unclean to you.

Nu 16:26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch <05060> nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.

Hag 2:13 Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch <05060> any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.

Pr 6:29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth <05060> her shall not be innocent.

1Co 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

1Co 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Isa 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

NOT NAKED UNTIL THE FALL: COULD EVE HAVE ADDED TO GOD’S WORD BEFORE THE FALL?

Ge 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Ge 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Ge 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION

A careful look at Ge 3:3 seems to show that Eve did NOT Lie when she told the serpent that God said they should not touch the tree. God did not document that part of the conversation, but it seems to be revealed in the rest of the WORD. Touch, on the judgment side, points to fornication. So historically, they would have committed fornication if she’d touched the tree as Adam and Eve appear to have typified the church.
