So as by Fire

Analysis of 1Co 3:13-14. Is God being redundant on the redemption of the Elect from tribulation?

SALVATION: REWARD – CHURCH BODY RECEIVES A CROWN AT THE REVELATION OF CHRIST?

1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

1Co 3:13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

1Co 3:14 If any man’s work <2041> abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward^3408.

1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work <2041> of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Ga 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works^2041 of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Mr 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward^3408.

Lu 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward^3408 shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Lu 10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire^3408. Go not from house to house.

Re 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward^3408 unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Re 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward^3408 is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

LOSS: SECOND DEATH - JUDGMENT ON BABYLON?

1Co 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned <2618>, he shall suffer loss <2210>: but {} himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Re 18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned <2618> with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Mt 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn <2618> them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Mt 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose <2210> his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Php 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss <2210> of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

SAVED SO AS BY FIRE: LIKE THE WATER THAT DESTROYED ALSO SAVED, THE FIRE ON BABYLON ALSO REDEEMS THE BODY?

1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Mt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Zec 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Eze 39:6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Eze 39:7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Re 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

SALVATION OF AN UNSAVED: REDEEMPTION OF THE UNCLEAN BODY?

Ge 20:17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.

Ge 20:18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife.

Ge 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Ge 17:25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

Ge 4:13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

Ge 4:14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

Ge 4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Re 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION:

Looking at 1Co 3:14-15, God it seems is being redundant. Salvation is first mentioned and seen in lookint at those who suffer loss vs those who receive a crown of salvation. Then salvation is mentioned again as God focuses on the redemption of the body as a whole.
