Believing God's Promise

Did Christ have a body and died BEFORE the foundation of the world OR is it BELIEVING in God’s PROMISE that justifies the sinner?

BEFORE & AFTER THE CROSS: BELIEVING, BY FAITH, IN THE PROMISE OF THE SAVIOR

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham (father of a multitude) and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Ga 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Gal 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Ga 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Hbr 6:13 For when God made promise, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

Ro 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for

righteousness.

glory to God;

Hbr 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that

promised.

Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Hbr 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in

him.

Hbr 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a

child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Gen 18:14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according

to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:

in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

1Pe 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of

the grace that should come unto you:

1Pe 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

Jhn 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

1Pe 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

GOD’S FOREKNOWLEDGE AND ELECTION

2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Re 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Mr 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

PAST AND PRESENT TENSE OF <FUTURE> EVENTS:

Eze 39:8 Behold, IT IS COME, and IT IS DONE, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.

Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, IT IS DONE. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Ps 69:21 They GAVE me gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Isa 63:4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

Isa 63:5 And I LOOKED, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm BROUGHT salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

Isa 63:3 I HAVE trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

Re 14:20 And the winepress WAS trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Isa 53:5 But he WAS wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we ARE HEALED.

Isa 53:7 He WAS oppressed, and he WAS afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is BROUGHT as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

THE CROSS: ATONEMENT FOR SIN ONCE?

Jhn 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. (Sin atoned for before His death?)

Lu 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Mt 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Mr 10:38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

Jer 25:17 Then took I the cup at the LORD’S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

Re 16:19 ….and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were FINISHED from the foundation of the world.

Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself PURGED our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered ONE sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Heb 9:28 So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Heb 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did ONCE, when he offered up himself.

Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his SON, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

SUMMARY CONCLUSION:

When God takes an oath and makes a promise, because He cannot lie, He can speak of the events related to that promise as already fulfilled. In fact promise and belief seem to go together by Faith in Christ. In fact, not trusting in God’s promises in Christ is SIN even though we understand that the belief is passive on the part of the elect. If Christ had made payment for sins in eternity past, would God speak of a promise in which one has to believe, by faith? The substance therefore, appears to surround the cross altogether as Christ had to drink of the cup of God’s wrath on behalf of those who were chosen to salvation in eternity past.
