Does God use the word SOUL to represent those in the Church?


Soul identifies with People – The LIFE of an individual is in the SOUL. The Church is also viewed as having a SOUL.

Ge 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of LIFE; and man became a living SOUL.

Le 17:11 For the LIFE of the <flesh> is in the BLOOD: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls (life): for it is the BLOOD that maketh an atonement for the SOUL.


Mt 10:28 And fear not them which kill <615> the body, <4983> but are not able to kill <615> the soul: <5590> but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul <5590> and body in hell.

Mt 16:25 For whosoever will save his life <5590> shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life <5590> for my sake shall find it.

Col 3:4 When CHRIST, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Re 18:14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.


1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
