SUMMARY CONCLUSION

The Bible appears to be equating the rooftop, roof or housetop to Christ. The roof of a house is that which provides a covering or protection from the elements. So it appears that God can use both the house as well as the roof to point to the collective body. In tribulation, the unsaved worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; meaning they defile Christ. And at the revelation of Christ, those on the housetops (in Christ) are not to go back in the house. This all appears to be redundancy in that the Elect have to be separate from the unsaved body.
