Forsaking the Assembling

Could forsaking the assembling be pointing to the falling away of the church in tribulation? Let's examine.

FORSAKING - FALLING AWAY? THE CHURCH FORSAKES GOD IN TRIBULATION

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking <1459> the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

2Ti 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken <1459> me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

1Jo 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

GOD FORSAKES THE CHURCH

2Ch 15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake <5800> him, he will forsake<5800> you.

2Ch 24:20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken <5800> the LORD, he hath also forsaken <5800> you.

Jer 51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake <5800> her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.

La 5:20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake <5800> us so long time?

SEEING THE DAY APPROACHING: DAY OF THE LORD – SEPARATION OF WHEAT AND TARES?

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that DAY shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Isa 6:12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

GOD DOES NOT FORSAKE THE ELECT: SALVATION / DEPART OUT

Isa 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken <5800>.

Isa 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken <5800> thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

Ps 94:14 For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake <5800> his inheritance.

Ps 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken <5800>, nor his seed begging bread.

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake <1459> thee.

ASSEMBLING OF OURSELVES: THE CATCHING UP?

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling <1997> of ourselves together <1997>, as the manner of some is; but exhorting <3870> one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together <1997> unto him,

Mt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Isa 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Joh 11:52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times <2540> he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

EXHORTING: COMFORTING - DESIRING SALVATION FOR OTHERS BY SHARING THE TRUE GOSPEL?

1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort <3870> one another with these words.

1Th 5:11 Wherefore comfort <3870> yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter <3875> will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION:

The Bible it appears is giving us sufficient information to conclude that Hebrews 10:25 is NOT a command for believers to gather together in churches or groups. Based on scripture comparison, this verse might be interpreted this way:

Do not forsake (turn away from) the kingdom (forsaking God) otherwise you are excluding yourself from the gathering of the believers unto Christ at the End. But rather exhort the body (be faithful in sharing the gospel) especially as judgment day grows closer.

The church had a rendez-vous with Christ but it has forsaken the assembling (gathering) and in so doing came under the judgment of God.
