Let this Cup Pass

Do the believers drink of the FIRST CUP of God's wrath as they endured tribulation? Let's examine.

LET THIS CUP PASS: PRAYER OF THE ELECT NOT TO HAVE TO ENDURE TRIBULATION (TYPIFIED BY CHRIST GOING TO THE CROSS)?

Mt 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this CUP PASS from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Mt 20:23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall DRINK indeed of my CUP, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

1Co 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and DRINK this CUP, ye do shew the Lord’s DEATH till he come.

2Ti 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be <DEAD with him>, we shall also live with him:

YE SHALL CERTAIN DRINK: GOD PASSING THE CUP TO THE UNSAVED CHURCH AS HE AVENGES THE ELECT?

Isa 51:23 But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION

God seems to be associating the first drinking of the cup to the tribulation believers had to endure. The church ceremonies of eating the bread and drinking the cup was spiritually pointing to the death the elect have in common with Christ when God’s judgment came on the body. So they were the first to drink, followed by the unsaved church, babylon, at the revelation of Christ.
