Zoar

Could ZOAR be a type of the unsaved church that is ultimately redeemed? Let's examined.

ZOAR – BABYLON: UNSAVED CHURCH IN WHICH THE ELECT COME OUT OF?

Ge 19:30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

Ge 13:10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. (a city grouped with Sodom and Gomorrah)

Ge 14:8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of BELA (destruction) (the same is ZOAR;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

Ge 14:1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar (Babylonish), Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

Ge 14:2 That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of BELA, which is ZOAR>.

Isa 15:5 My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives {shall flee} unto ZOAR>, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

Jer 51:54 A sound of a cry cometh from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans:

Jer 48:5 For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.

Jer 48:34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from ZOAR even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.

ZOAR: PLACE OF REFUGE (REDEMPTION OF THE UNCLEAN BODY THAT IS ZOAR?)

Ge 19:17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

Lu 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Ge 19:18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:

Ge 19:19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain <02022>, lest some evil <07451> take me, and I die:

Ex 32:12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief <07451> did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains <02022>, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil <07451> against thy people.

2Sa 15:14 And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

Ps 140:11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow {}.

Ge 44:20 And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one (small); and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.

Isa 60:22 A little one (small) shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

Ge 19:21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.

Ge 19:22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar (insignificance).

ZOAR BECOMING IDENTIFIED WITH CHRIST: REDEEMING THE UNCLEAN BODY:

Isa 19:24 In that day shall Israel be the third with EGYPT and with ASSYRIA, even a blessing in the midst of the land:

Ge 17:25 And ISHMAEL his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

Ge 4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon CAIN, lest any finding him should kill him.

Eze 37:22 And I will make them ONE NATION in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

SUMMARY CONCLUSION:

God appears to be associating ZOAR with the unclean church that is Babylon. This is seen in the fact that it identifies with the cities of Babylon and Sodom and Gomorrah... this is where the Elect were dweling prior to the revelation of Christ. So Lot leaving ZOAR would seem to relate to the redemptoin of the Body, while fleeing to ZOAR and leaving Sodom would point to God redeeming the church ZOAR.
