Let Him Depart

Could the language of the unbelieving departing refer to the falling away of the Church in Tribulation?

UNBELIEVERS: UNSAVED IN THE BODY?

1Co 7:12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not <571>, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

1Co 7:15 But if the unbelieving <571> depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

Ga 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers <571>: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel <571>?

Mt 17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless <571> and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

Lu 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers <571>.

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

PLEASED TO DWELL: PRE-TRIBULATION AND SEPARATION?

1Co 7:12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel <4632>, and as being heirs together <4789> of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered <1581>.

Ro 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

Pr 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Ro 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel <4632> unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Ro 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels <4632> of wrath fitted to destruction:

2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels <4632> of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

Ro 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs <4789> with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs <4789>, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

Ro 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off <1581>.

Lu 13:7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut <1581> it down <1581>; why cumbereth it the ground?

Mt 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down <1581>, and cast into the fire.

PUTTING AWAY: SEPARATING FROM THE UNSAVED BODY?

1Co 7:12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

1Co 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Mt 19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

De 24:1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

Job 11:14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Isa 50:1 Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION

God, in parabolic form seems to relate the activities of the church to that of a husband and wife in marriage. As long as the church was pleased to dwell with Christ, the body was not to put others away (separate). However in tribulation, the unbelieving church departed from the faith causing God’s judgment on it as HE put her away eternally.
