Adam to Moses

Looking at the possibility that Adam typifies the Church while Moses points to Christ.

MOSES: TYPE OF CHRIST?

Ac 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

Heb 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Heb 3:2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

ADAM: TYPE OF THE CHURCH AND CHRIST?

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam (man, earth, red) was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

FROM ADAM TO MOSES: FROM THE SINFUL CHURCH TO CHRIST?

Ro 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam (earthy body) to Moses (Christ), even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of himthat was to come.

Ro 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

Ro 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Ro 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Ro 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

Ro 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ro 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Ro 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (awaiting redemption in Christ?)

NO LAW, NO TRANSGRESSION: NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST?

1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Ro 5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Ps 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Ro 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Ro 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. (where Christ is, there is no transgression?)

Ro 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Ro 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Ro 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

Ro 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Ga 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

STRENGTH OF SIN: THE LAW THAT LEADS TO CHRIST?

1Co 15:56 The sting <2759> of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Re 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings <2759> in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

Ga 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Ga 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (no longer under the law?)

Ro 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Ro 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION

The Bible appears to be associating death reigning from Adam to Moses to sin reigning in the church to Christ who is the end of the law. Moses was a great type of Christ who led the children of Israel out of bondage. The Law was the schoolmaster that brought the Elect to Christ.
