Topic : Watch!

Mt 24:42 Watch^1127 therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Mt 25:13 Watch^1127 therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mt 26:38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch^1127 with me.

Mt 26:41 Watch^1127 and pray, that ye enter not into temptation^3986: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Lu 22:46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye^2518? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation^3986.

Re 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation^3986, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation^3986 taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations^3986, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation^3986: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Mr 13:34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch^1127.

1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep^2518, as do others; but let us watch^1127 and be sober.

Mr 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch^1127.

Lu 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh^2064 shall find watching^1127: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Mt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming^2064 in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant^1127; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Re 3:2 Be watchful^1127, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

Re 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou not watch^1127, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Re 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth^1127, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Mt 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept^2518.

Mt 26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep^2518, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch^1127 with me one hour?

Mt 26:43 And he came and found them asleep^2518 again: for their eyes were heavy^916.

Mr 14:40 And when he returned, he found them asleep^2518 again, (for their eyes were heavy^916,) neither wist they what to answer him.

2Co 1:8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out^916 of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

2Co 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened^916: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

Mt 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house^3617 had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched^1127, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Mt 13:25 But while men slept^2518, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

Mt 13:52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder^3617, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
The Transfiguration

Lu 9:28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

Lu 9:29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

Lu 9:30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

Lu 9:31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

Lu 9:32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy^916 with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

Pr 6:9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Pr 19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

Jer 51:39 In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the LORD.

Jer 51:57 And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

Mt 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Mt 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Eph 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest^2518, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep^2518, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

1Th 5:7 For they that sleep^2518 sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

1Th 5:10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep^2518, we should live together with him.

Jer 31:28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.

Ps 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Conclusion:
The Bible appears to be showing us that <Watching> is a watch NOT to enter into temptation or tribulation. The picture is that of a house (corporate body) where two people (wheat and tare) are sleeping when the thief (Satan) comes at midnight (great tribulation and judgment) to rob, kill and destroy. The wheat were commanded to watch, but they fell asleep along with the tares. However because their sins are covered in Christ, nothing can separate them from the love of God. God was the only one watching on their behalf and was able to wake them up (Elect) so they could leave the house. The tares, however woke up only to face God's wrath in judgment.

Feedback and correction welcome.

There is now a video on youtube summarizing the questions sent to Mr. Camping and referring viewers to this site to view the document in its entirety. Lord willing, some might be moved to offer feedback or correction as they check out the scripture references for themselves:

Thanks Althea... also in anticipation of further discussion on this topic. Here is a related link to a recent conversation in The Bible Only room. Lord willing, this might set the stage as to how I am differentiating between the literal and spiritual at the moment:

Yes...these are pertinent questions to be examined and I look forward to hearing what others have to share on these things.

Topic : Is God Saving Today?

Dear Friends,

When we consider all the language of the Bible relating to the salvation of the Elect Body coming out of Babylon. Is there sufficient information in the Bible telling us that God is saving anyone? Many say that today is a time when God is saving a great multitude:

Re 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

However, when we factor in the rest of the Bible, we see that this great multitude identifies with the two witnesses who'd been killed at the start of the tribulation. In other words, this is a time when God is gathering those who were already saved and who had yet to receive revelation. This would make sense if we consider the following language which seems to coincide with the depart out:

Mt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Mt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Mt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Well there is a lot more to share on this subject but the challenge before us now is, where in the Bible can we confirm that God is only saving people outside of the local churches.

Please share your understanding of these things as we look only to the Bible for truth.

Topic : Spiritual vs. Literal

Where do we draw the line between the spiritual language we are learning today from the Bible and the historical events of the Bible such as the literal destruction of the world of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah...etc? Can we over spiritualize and ignore a literal coming of Christ? How does what we perceive to be an accurate Biblical calendar factor in? Is it possible that this universe could go past the year 2011?

These are questions I'm sure are on the minds of many, myself included. Of course we can only find our answers as we patiently search the Bible and wait on the LORD. You're welcome to share your input and Bible verses.

May the Lord give us wisdom as we ponder these things.

Topic : Letter to Mr. Camping

In light of the disagreements that exist today between Family Radio and some local groups including Berean Studies on certain Biblical doctrines, we felt the need to send a document to Mr. Harold Camping, president of Family Stations Inc., in Oakland California.

Mr. Camping is a highly respected Bible teacher and therefore we respect his opinion. We have outlined a series of questions narrowed down to summary questions for each section in this document. The purpose of this document is to try and use scripture to present a set of information to Mr. Camping. We are hoping Mr. Camping will take some time to share his views on these observations and show us from the Bible where we may be in error.

We've made these questions available online so as to invite anyone to look over them. We welcome any feedback and offer of correction.

Topic : 11:41 a.m Jerusalem time?

I came across a document someone posted online and which is also on the Latter Rain group, where an extensive study was done by an individual showing how he has calculated that Christ will return at 11:41 a.m. Jerusalem time on May 21, 2011.

I'm starting a discussion on this here in an effort to educate ourselves, Lord willing, so that others may not blindly follow a teaching. These are done in an effort to fulfill the language of the Lion roaring 2 years before the earthquake (Amos 1:1). The belief is that somehow God is now revealing the exact hour 2 years (2009 to 2011) before what others see as a great earthquake to take place on May 21, 2011.

As bereans, we shouldn't hesitate to look into any information as long as we are careful to make sure it comes from the Bible. I'm not sure how far this teaching will get and how it might affect the lives of others, but here we want to look to see if it's something to even be concerned about. Another reason to look at this is to see whether or not the literal understanding of "2 years before the earthquake" has any Biblical validity. Lord willing, this may encourage others to look into the spiritual rather than the literal.

Here is the link to that study:

https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=b01f1c3c7c&view=att&th=126a5b5fb1bb3787&attid=0.1&disp=vah&zw

You're welcome to comment on it. But I spent a little bit of time looking at this and I will try to outline a couple of weaknesses I found thus far and raise some questions to the author of that study.

First of all I'd like to remind everyone of the letter that was sent to Mr. Camping where questions are raised on the substance placed on May and October 21, 2011. The link to this letter can be found here:

http://bereanstudies.net/Family%20Radio/Letter%20to%20Mr.%20Camping.pdf

Now, in looking an exact hour being 11:41 am... here are some of my observations:

Path #1:
445 BC (Nehemiah rebuilds the walls - picturing completion of salvation)
7 AD (Christ, 12 years old explains scriptures to doctors - revelation)
______
452-1 = 451 = 11 x 41 (11= coming of Christ, 41 = revelation)

My question: How can we take a 11 x 41 and make it into 11:41 (hour)?

Path #2:
6741 BC (Enoch raptured)
623 BC (Josiah finds the book of the law)
____
6119 (inclusive) = 29 x 211 (29=proclamation , 211 the end (2011))

My question: How can we take 211 and make it 2011? Don't see Biblical validation for it.

Path #3
33 AD (Crucifixion)
2011 (May 21)
722,500
2 (two days prior to the passover feast of the cross)
722,502 (2x3x3x11x41x89) (11x41=complete knowledge of 2nd coming)
(89 = judgment on the unsaved)

My question: Where in the Bible can we view 89 as judgment? Also shouldn't the start date of the 2 days prior to the cross be compared to 2009 rather than the very last day in 2011... since 2009 would better relate the 2 years before May 21, 2011?

In comparing dates, I believe the dates should be spiritually related and not just taken at random. For example comparing 1447 BC (exodus) should be compared to 1994 AD (depart out - exodus).

There are others that I've not looked at, but this should begin to set the stage. Feedback welcome.
