| Is Babylon a reference to the LOCAL churches and congregations OR Earthly Jerusalem responsible for shedding the blood of ALL the prophets from the very beginning? Let's examine. |
|
Lu 11:50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; Lu 11:51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation. 2Ch 24:20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah (Jehovah remembers) the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you. 2Ch 24:21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD. 2Ch 24:22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it. Re 18:24 And in HER was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. Jer 2:34 Also in THY SKIRTS is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these. Re 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: Re 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Re 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. Re 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of HER, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Mt 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Joh 11:43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. Eze 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Lu 11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, Mt 23:37 O JERUSALEM, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! De 32:43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. Jer 46:10 For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
The Temple of the LORD: The whole Body prior to the separation? 1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1Co 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 2Co 6:16 …..for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Lu 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Ac 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, (two-fold meaning) Mr 14:58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. Joh 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Joh 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body. Mt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Re 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. Re 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Ro 9:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Ro 9:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
The Holy Place: Holy due to the presence of GOD? Mt 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy^40 place^5117, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Ac 7:33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place^5117 where thou standest is holy^40 ground. Ac 21:28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy^40 place^5117. Ex 26:33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. Ex 28:29 And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually^08548. Mt 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Da 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily^08548 sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. 1Ki 9:3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 1Ki 11:36 And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there. Mt 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (a gathering does not have to take place in a building) 1Sa 11:6 And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly. 1Sa 18:10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul‘s hand. 1Sa 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
Those who come in the NAME OF CHRIST: Individual people? Mt 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Re 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. Isa 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
Conclusion: The Bible appears to be equating coming out of BABYLON with the departure, flight, resurrection from the graves of the Pharisees (Old Jerusalem). This would consist of ALL unsaved in the body throughout history. The Elect must come out from the teachings of men altogether. Local Churches, like the synagogues appear to have been a place of gathering with carnal ordinances. Therefore would a trust in a literal departure be equivalent to works? The Ark in the Holy of Holies in the temple symbolized God dwelling in the midst of the people. God’s Temple was Holy as long as He was in the midsts with either saved and unsaved (Like old testament Israel). Today’s separation would be the process of cleansing the Holy Place as we read in Da 8:14.
