SUMMARY CONCLUSION

God appears to be linking tears, sorrow, mourning, sighing to the state of the Church in tribulation. Similar to the sorrowful state of Jerusalem after she was destroyed by the Babylonians. Then once Christ was revealed, God began to impart understanding to the Elect and speaks of wiping away their TEARS (redeem them from Babylon) so that they are no longer in tribulation.
